Electrosail is dedicated to the research, development, application and promotion of next-generation diesel-electro power for the sailing industry.

Our flagship project is Electric Leopard, a Leopard 43 catamaran built in 2005 by Robertson & Caine in Cape Town, South Africa.

Instead of twin diesels, Electric Leopard is equipped with twin 30HP electric motors, powered by a 25kW generator made by Glacier Bay, Inc.
